getting serious

In the second week i realised in more depth what needed to be done. we need to come up with some space ship designs and multiple external parts that can be used on other ships of that faction which i messed around with but couldn’t come up with anything solid although the idea to have custom parts is good coming up with the designs and themes for the ships/parts is difficult and it makes it even more difficult when we aren’t really working together cos all our designs are not themed there all individual if you know what i mean maybe more internal upgrades? or a different customisation system? anyway i’m nearing the compilation of the modelling stage of my character with only 1,572 polys modeling characters are more my thing not so much drawing them tho :-(

  1. That's awesome Josh, I wish I could model like that. I just can't seem to get things right :D
    Never happy with proportions etc.

    The next thing we will be working on is the ship customization, so we'll probably set up some form of test-scenario and whatever before filling it in with the content.

    Wonder how I can make my character look good ._.

  2. As for ship parts. Well the whole point is to have it so the player can have personalization. Instead of.. "I've got the x ship!" .. "It looks like his x ship.. and his.. and his.."

    Of course there will be issues when the ships of one faction are entirely different and incongruous. Some level-field needs to be established in order to have this work.

    For instance. "Alien ships can only use alien parts, and universal parts." and vice verse.
